Everyone loves a good “dog” and this one here tastes just as amazing, yet cruelty free! This recipe is based off of Tabitha Brown, so you know it’s got to be good. Give it a try, it really does have the flavor of a meaty hotdog. You can be creative with your toppings and serve with a side of coleslaw, beans, chips, or whatever you like to eat with hotdogs! Let me know what you think!

Ingredients
- 8 carrots
- 1 c soy sauce
- 2 c water
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp liquid smoke
- 2 tbsp A1 steak sauce
- 8 whole wheat hot dog buns
Instructions
- Peel the carrots and cut the ends off. You can match the size of the hot dog buns or if you're like me, you'll leave a little extra length
- Boil carrots in the soy sauce, water, maple syrup, ketchup, liquid smoke, A1 for 10 minutes uncovered
- Boil for another 10 minutes, this time covered. Ocasionally poking the carrots with a fork or knife to check that they're not too soft
- Turn off heat and let the carrots sit in the pot with the sauce for 5 minutes
- Place a few paper towels on top of a plate or serving dish
- Remove the carrots from the pot and place them the plate with paper towels for the carrots to drain for at least 3 minutes
- Top your dogs with toppings of your choice. I've used: coleslaw, cheese, fresh kale, ketchup, mustard, relish
