This ain’t Hormel Chili

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes petite diced
  • 1 15 oz can of black beans drained
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 c lentils any kind
  • 4 c vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp oil any kind
  • 1 tbsp cracked black pepper
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin ground
  • 1 tsp paprika smoked
  • 1 tbsp chili powder

Instructions
 

  • Dice the onion. Place the onion along with the garlic into the slow cooker.
  • Add all of the other ingredients, including the spices to the slow cooker and stir
  • Cook on high for 5 hours or until the lentils are tender
  • Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy.

Notes

You can add any type of canned bean that you like for this chili
