Easy Peasy Cereal

Ever thought about making your own cereal? Well here is your opportunity to finally jump in an go for it!

I personally make this recipe once a week, sometimes twice.  The cool thing is that you can personalize your cereal just the way you like it. You can have so much fun trying different ingredients and creating flavors that work well together. Even better, you’d be saving money by not buying cereal in the store. Best part? It’s super quick and easy to make! Winning!

This cereal recipe is healthy, hearty and full of delicious ingredients. This cereal is a great source of fiber and protein. Other health benefits include: promotion of healthy heart, reduced blood pressure, increased bone health, and more. Believe it or not it’s guilt free, even if you do eat an entire container in 1 day…not saying whether I have done that or not. This cereal is also very easy to store and lasts for a week or so. Shout out to not having to make a full breakfast in the morning! Top with fruit, honey, more raisins and nuts! Give this recipe a try and be sure to comment below once you do!

  • ¼ c pure maple syrup
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon ground
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • flaxseed
  • chia seeds
  • raisins
  • unsweetened shredded coconut optional
  • chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°
  • In a large bowl, add the oats
  • To the oats, add as much of each ingredient as you'd like: flaxseed, chia seeds, chopped wlanuts and set the large bowl aside
  • In a small bowl, add vegan butter, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, peanut butter and melt together in the microwave for 15 seconds
  • Mix the liquid mixture and then stir into the oats, coating all of the oats.
  • Pour the oats onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spreading them evenly
  • Bake the oats for 10 minutes
  • Remove the oats and add the raisins and shredded coconut, mix well into the oats and back for another 10 minutes
  • Let cool for at least 15 minutes. Store into an airtight container. Any simple container with a lid works well. Enjoy with any plant-based milk. I highly recommend oat milk!
